Lavender oil comes from the lavender plant
Lavender is an oil that most people have heard of and most know the perfume. Lavender oil is used for headaches and sleeplessness. It calms the spirit. If you have difficulty sleeping at night, put a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow. Besides smelling nice, lavender helps you to drift into sleep more easily.
Lavender is known to be able to ease headaches. You can use a drop of lavender aromatherapy oil and rub it into you temples. Place a drop or two on a tissue and sniff it every now and then, or use lavender oil in an aromatherapy burner. This emits the aroma throughout the room and can affect you in subtle ways.
Massage with Lavender
Place 12 drops of lavender oil in 20mls of vegetable oil. You can even use Canola or Sunflower oil if the is the only oil you have in the house. This quantity is the approximate amount you would need for a full body massage for an adult. The ratio of aromatherapy oil to carrier or vegetable oil is important. If you have no one else to massage your back, you can always massage your face and neck, front of your body, legs and feet.
