How Many Colours in the Rainbow?
There are seven colours in the rainbow and a myriad of other variations of these colours.

Colour has a major effect on our lives. We love some colours and hate others.
When I asked my granddaughters what colour they liked, they knew immediately which colour they preferred. They were three years old at the time.
Purple, they said.
A few months later it was Yellow.
Interestingly yellow is the opposite to purple on the colour wheel.
Colour is used in Light therapy to heal the body and the mind. It has been used and studied by top neuroscientists around the world.
Colourpuncture is a form of acupuncture, but using coloured lights instead of needles to affect the body. Different colours are used to bring about balance in the body. Coloured light can be used for physical or mental ailments.
Glasses with different colour in the lens can be used. Blue lenses in the morning get a person up and going. Orange lenses used for an hour before bedtime can help you settle. The orange in the lens cuts out the blue in light which keeps us awake.
Ladies and girls are at a distinct advantage in western society as they wear a myriad of colours in their clothes. When they look in their wardrobe many can see all the colours of the rainbow. We absorb colour from our clothing and the things around us.
Colour in Interior design and Architecture
On the television recently, Nick Knowles, an English Interior designer, said that in the future, when people look back to the different eras to see how we painted our homes, both inside and out, we will be known as The Grey Era. In the new housing estates here in southern Australia, dark grey, slate grey and greyish-browns abound. There is no colour anywhere.
I an expensive housing estate nearby, it was written in the contract the only colours you were allowed to paint your house or the colour of the bricks. A row of expensive units viewed from a distance looked distinctly like a gulag or prison.
On the other hand, we see how the Italians paint their houses in all colours of the rainbow, especially around the Mediterranean Sea.
