Fatigue is a symptom of an imbalance in your body or mind, or both. It is not an illness in itself. Fatigue can be temporary or chronic. Temporary means that it is short lived, maybe for hours or a day or two. Chronic means that it is around for a long time and does not go away. This may be for weeks, months or years.
People who are diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome have long term fatigue, that is, chronic fatigue. This is an illness that encompasses a group of symptoms. These symptoms may be different for many people, however the over-riding symptom is fatigue.
For some people this fatigue can mean that they cannot work to the same standard that they did previously. For others it may mean that they can only get to work a few hours each day. Others people may have to give up work and can barely manage with general life. And there is the smaller group of people that are so fatigued that they cannot get out of bed for weeks, months or years.
If you are feeling fatigue it is a good idea to visit your medical practitioner to make sure that there is nothing major wrong with you. He/she can detect many things through blood tests these days. If they have no solution for you there are many other avenues that you can follow. But first you need an open mind.
Many people only look to Western medicine to cure all their ills. Many other people in western civilization seek out alternative modalities. Alternative modalities are also called complementary medicine or complementary modalities because they complement, that is, add to general medical treatment. Many people use only these forms of medicine. These modalities encompass the whole body and mind, and do not treat just the one or two symptoms that you might present with to a GP.
Alternative modalities generally prefer preventative treatment and work on strengthening the mind and body and not wait until something goes drastically wrong.
Usually these alternative modalities or treatments do no harm and help people considerably.
What do I Look for in an Alternative Practitioner?
If you decide to look for alternative treatment look for practitioners who have qualifications. Check who has given this qualification. It is also worth noting that there are some modalities where there is nowhere to get qualified. Sometimes you can get great relief from these people also. Use your discernment to decide. Even if the person is not qualified yet you here good reports about them or are getting relief from them, then why not keep seeing them? Why stop just because they do not have a piece of paper to hang on the wall?
Alternative Modalities for YOU to try
Many of these modalities may ease your fatigue. You need to find the right person that you can connect with.

Dropper bottles are very handy to store liquid herbal mixtures in. People with allergies, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ME and a host of other auto immune diseases find that they can often get little help from the conventional medical system.
Amber dropper bottles can be used for liquid herb, flower essences, distilled water, inks, and any potion y
Storing Liquid Herbs and Potions
Many turn to natural remedies to alleviate some of their symptoms. Storage of these is sometimes a problem. Where can you get the bottles, those little dropper bottles, to dole out small quantities of liquid. Easy handling in important. Safety is important. Safe storage of these precious liquids is important.
Herbs, flower essences, liquids and potions last longer in good condition when they are stored in brown glass bottles. These are called amber bottles in the trade but BROWN Bottles is good enough.
Using the Droppers
These bottles come with their own glass dropper. The dropper is clear with no markings on it. The droppers vary in length according to the size of the bottle. They hold 1-2ml depending on their size.
To get the liquid into the glass dropper, squeeze the red rubber bulb at the top of the dropper. This expels the air from the dropper. When you let the red bulb go the liquid will rise in the glass tube so long as the open end of the dropper is below the liquid in the bottle. Sometimes you need to squeeze and release the red bulb a few times to get the required amount of liquid in the dropper.
These droppers do not reach to the bottom of the bottles so to access the lower liquid, just tip the bottle to the side and the liquid will come closer to the dropper.
These bottles are used by naturopaths and homeopaths worldwide so you know you are getting the right bottles for your precious liquids.
These dropper bottles are not suitable for aromatherapy oils as the oil will destroy the red bulb. There are black tops made from nitrile which can be used for aromatherapy oils. Aromatherapy oils are usually dispensed from different bottles which I will explain at another time.
Herbs are a great addition to our food. They have qualities discovered by our ancestors over hundreds of years. These people who went before us knew what plants were good for them and those they loved. They knew what plants could make them better when they were sick. They did not have big hospitals, or doctors to run to each time they didn't feel well. They had to look after themselves and they turned to Nature for help. The plants in Nature were free for the taking.
Here, this young chef who is close to my heart introduces us to Lavender. He is a great young guy, and I must say, I gave him a little help along the way with his love of cooking and Nature.
His name is Bevan Vahland. He has lots of cooking videos on Youtube or join him on Facebook or Twitter or even on his website www.foodtoeat.com.au Enjoy!
A Secret Cave
Our mouth is the secret hidey hole or cave where we put everything that goes into our body.
All our food passes through our mouth. This can be clean, green, food, organically grown food, lovingly home-cooked food, fresh fruit and salads or meat. It can be fast foods like pizza or MacDonalds or fish and chips.
It can be fried, fatty food or freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable smoothies. It can be rich cheesecake and chocolate or vegetables which have been sprayed with chemicals on the farms and again in the supermarkets to 'keep the bugs away' and 'keep them fresh'. It can be organic produce or chemical laden produce.
We can fill our mouth with smoke and chemical laden toothpastes, or we can use more natural toothpastes containing little or no chemicals.
Is it any wonder we get bad breath sometimes? Bad breath is also called Halitosis. One of the causes for this can be from the bad bacteria in our mouth. Remember that the bad bacteria grows aroung our teeth and can invade our gums. It is then called Gingivitis. When we have gingivitis our gums bleed when we clean them. The gums can look pale or puffy and swollen. They can erode and leave the teeth exposed and all the more likely to become loose and fall out.
This is the inflammation of the lining of the mouth including the cheeks, tongue and palette (roof) and floor of the mouth. It can cause redness and swelling.
Natural ways to ease Problems in the Mouth
Calendula is a very soothing flower and a natural plant used like a herb. It is very safe to use. The orange flowers can be made into a tea. This can be swilled around the mouth and then swallowed. Calendula tincture is stronger. This can be made into a mouth wash to swirl around the mouth. Buy Calendula at the Health food store.
Use natural Toothpastes and Toothbrushes
Use soft toothbrushes. Hard toothbrushes can damage the inside of the mouth,
damaging the gums and letting bacteria in.
Use natural toothbrushes. There are some available made out of bamboo. The have soft bristles.
Use a mix of salt and bi-carbonate of soda as a powder instead of toothpaste. Bi-carbonate of soda is a natural doedoriser and whitener. Salt is a natural disinfectant. You can mix Xylitol with this for a better flavour. Xylitol is a natural sweetener which has been proven to kill bacteria in the mouth. Sugar makes bacteria grow.
Be careful what you put in your mouth. Do not prod with toothpicks. Use floss instead.
Remember to clean your mouth and teeth after eating. If you have dentures, make sure to clean them regularly.

Do you suffer from Anxiety?
‘Researchers are learning that anxiety disorders run in
families, and that they have a biological basis, much like allergies or diabetes and other disorders. Anxiety disorders may develop from a complex set of risk factors, including genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and life events.’ from the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
Yes, it is understandable that anxiety should run in families. We only have to look around us at the people we know to realise that many things run in
families. We learn to be who we are by the influence of our family. We eat the same food as the people in our family. We have the same genes as the people in our family.
All these things can and do affect us. We learn to cope in the same way
as the people in our family. When we become adults we change who we mix with, have our own friends and are influenced by the people we mix with at work. We can even change our diet. Even if we are no longer mixing directly with our family we carry them with us for the rest of our life in the genes in our body.
We can influence how we feel by the way we think, the food we eat and the
company we keep.
Natural ways to ease Anxiety
The gentle energy of Flower Essences can also help us with the way we feel. They affect our aura, our energy system.
Dr Edward Bach was a medical doctor and specialist in London in the 1930s. He discovered the benefits of the energy of plants and how they can also affect the way we think and feel.
Coming with a long history, herbs can also influence the
way we think and feel. Sometimes we need a little help to cope with the events in our life. Herbs are a gentle, safe, tried and true way we can turn for our health.
Tell us some natural remedies you have used for anxiety. This way we can
help each other.
