Anxiety is a problem for millions of people around the world, especially in Western society. Doctors only seem to have limited resources to deal with it. Their many choices are to right a script for Prozac like medications or sending you to a psychiatrist. This does nothing to get rid of the problem that was causing the anxiety. This problem is still there when you stop taking these drugs. The other problem is that it is difficult to come off these medications. You have to cut down VERY slowly under your doctors guidance.
A natural supplement, L-Theanine, also called Suntheanine, is a natural substance found in green tea. It shows great effects in calming anxiety. It can be used by adults and children with no adverse side effects. It can be used by people with problems in their brain including ADHD and ADD. It can help children settle and learn better.

Products that may help you deal with EMR
The air around us has positive and negative ions in it. When there is a thunderstorm, negative ions are released into the atmosphere. Often after a thunderstorm or lightning, the air feels cleaner or clearer. This is because of the excess of negative ions in the air.
Negative ions are good for our health. They make us feel relaxed and calm. Negative ions abound at the beach. They are generated by the waves breaking. They are also found in great quantities in forests, among the trees.
Positive ions build up in hot, dry weather. They build up with hot, dry winds. People get irritable when it is hot and windy.
Negative ions help to clear the air from EMR. Negative ionizers can be used in rooms in the house where you spend the most time. They make the air feel fresh. It's best to keep windows and outside doors closed so that the ionizers can work on the air in the room.
Yarrow Environmental Solution
This is a flower essence made by the Flower Essence Society. Flower essences are the energy of flowers captured in water. This essence was made after the Chernobyl nuclear plant disaster in 1986.T he energy of the flowers used in this combination essence along with potentized sea salt directly counteracts the destructive effects of radiation on the human energy field. It comes in the form of drops which are placed under the tongue. This imparts vitalizing and restorative properties to the aura.
Yarrow Environmental Solution guards against video display terminals, x-rays, radiation therapy, high altitude radiation, detection devices at airport terminals and invasive electromagnetic fields.

Earthing Sheets and Mats
By connecting us to the ground, we are connected into the Earth's energy. The Earth gives us electrons. These electrons match up with free radicals, those wicked little things that float around in our body causing inflammation and ageing in our body.
These sheets, developed by Clinton Ober, help us to access the energy of the earth from inside our home. These sheets have been specially designed and tested. All the science has been done for us. Put the sheet on your bed, plug the end of the wire into the earthing socket of your power point. You don't even have to turn the power point on. This product uses no electricity. Just go to bed as normal. You will be receiving the electrons from the earth as you sleep. There is also a product to put your bare feet on when sitting at the computer, or to put under your keyboard. You just have to touch these with bare skin.
Shungite is a rock or crystal with very special properties. It is found in Russia near the border of Finland. It is related to graphite and diamonds but is different from them. It is the only substance on earth that has geodesic formations within it. It is thought to be billions of years old and scientists are still trying to work out how it came to our planet.
This crystal or rock has the science behind it. It has been used by the Russians for hundreds of years to purify water and for healing. it has been proven to negate radiation within certain distances of it.
When this rock is placed in water it purifies it and imparts anti-radiation and antioxidant properties to it. The rock can be placed on computers to stop radiation affecting you. You can place some in your fridge to help you food last longer.
Rooms were lined with this and used for healing after the Chernobyl disaster. A Nobel Prize was given to the scientist who discovered its properties.
Children are our special responsibility. They come into this world in and are in our care until they have matures enough to take care of themselves.
One of the special things we can do for them is to show them how to take care of themselves.
The mouth and teeth are very important parts of our body that are often overlooked because we do not see the mouth. We see the lips as part of the face and we see the teeth when we smile but often our mouth is closed and these precious pearls are hidden.
When babies are getting their teeth it is a source of great joy for the mother. It is something that we can see grow.
We need our teeth to help us chew our food throughout the rest of our life so they are important to look after. This means cleaning them every day. It can be a source of great difficulty or great fun teaching littlies to clean their teeth.
We all know that it is not a good idea for children to sit in front of the television for hours. These days there are lots of electronic gadgets that can keep children amused but is it good for them?
Oxygen for our Brain
Scientists and doctors tell us that the more we sit, the more unhealthy we are. When we sit our heart, blood flow and breathing are not stimulated. If we go for an walk the blood is pumping through our veins at a faster rate. This gets our metabolism going. t makes us breathe faster. When we breathe we get more oxygen into our body. We need oxygen for our brain to work properly.
The best thing for children to do is take off their shoes and socks and run barefoot on the grass, at the beach or even play around on the concrete. The important thing here is that they do this barefoot. When our feet touch the ground we are earthing ourselves.
Electrons travel through the soles of our feet into our body getting rid of those free radicals that everyone is telling us are causing illness, inflammation and ageing. We want to keep our children healthy, so get them running barefoot on the ground.
Children need to move. They need to be active. Give them little projects. We all feel more useful when we have something to do.
Things Children Can Do
Give them a plastic bottle of water to make patterns on the concrete. Let them run through the water on the concrete in their bare feet.
Colic is one of the biggest problems parents have with new babies.
Colic is when babies have air that is trapped in their digestive system. This can be in their stomach or in their bowels. This air can cause great pain in these poor little babies.
For decades Gripe water has been a favourite natural remedy used by Mums. It helps release the air from the stomach.
I have a theory that may help. This has been formulated from decades of experience with babies.
Let’s look at some background information first.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Irritable Bowel Syndrome, also known as IBS is a great problem for many people throughout the world.
Symptoms of IBS are lots of
• wind in the bowel
• gut pain
In recent years researchers have found that people with IBS are adversely affected by different natural sugars in some foods, both fruit and vegetable. Therefore, if people with IBS avoid certain foods, these symptoms can lessen or be avoided.
Milk contains galactose, one of the sugars that can cause excessive wind, nausea and diarrhoea. Many years ago this was not as much of a problem as it is today. With the power of marketing, people are drinking lots of milk and eating milk products these days.
• coffee milk
• baby formula
and thousands of products that contain milk in their product.
Once babies were fed breast milk by their mothers. Those mothers did not have the amount of milk in their diet that mothers have today. In the last fifty years many babies were reared on baby formula, not their mother's milk. Baby formula is made from cow's milk which has specifically been produced to feed baby calves, not baby humans.
So I believe that one of the problems that babies suffer from a lot of colic is the milk they or their mother's drink. Lacteeze is a product that can convert the lactose in the milk into more digestible form. Adding these drops to the baby's formula or before a feed from their mother if she has lots of milk products, can ease colic in some babies.
Researchers have been working out which foods can affect people with IBS. Some people are affected by only one type of sugar while other may be affected by different combinations or all of the sugars.
When babies are started on solid food, it would make sense to me to start them on foods which are safe from these natural sugars which may affect them.
The gut of babies is very delicate. We care for their skin ever so carefully yet we do not consider their inner organs. These are even more delicate.
What foods are free from or very low in these natural sugars?
• lactose free milk products
Foods to beware of
Legumes, dried beans, lentils, green peas, sweet corn, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, milk and milk products, wheat and rye, onions and garlic

It is my idea that babies should not be started on solid food until they are at least 6 months. One of my children was 12 months old before he had any food except breast milk. He thrived.
I have seen babies turn from happy healthy breastfed babies into neurotic screaming babies that were affected for years by the addition of cow’s milk to their diet. I have seen parents turn into sleepless wrecks by these babies and young children who were in such pain as a result of what the Western world would tell you was a good healthy diet. I therefore question general thought on the subject.
Always have your baby checked out by the medical profession if you think there is something wrong. There are doctors, maternal and child health care nurses and dietitians.
In the Alternative health field there are naturopaths and homeopaths and other professionals ready to help you. Do research yourself if you are not happy with their recommendations. Keep searching until you find the information you need to ease your baby. Happy baby, Happy parents.
Spring and Autumn are the two 'change of season' times of the year. These are preparatory seasons, seasons where we get ready for the hottest or coldest season of the year.
Springtime has traditionally been a time of the year when housewives took to cleaning. They cleaned out the dirt and the damp of winter, the spiders and cobwebs, they washed the smoke from the wood fires and the dust from the curtains and the walls and scrubbed the front doorstep.
These days houses are not locked up as much throughout the winter. We are lucky to have the cracks in our walls plastered and heating turned on. Not so many of us have wood fires for heat these days.
Change of Season
However at the change of season, whether it is the Autumn season or Spring season, we are changing our clothes and our bedding. Because I live in the southern hemisphere and it's Autumn time here, I'll talk about that.
Washing Stored Clothes
As the days get cooler we start to get out our lighter winter clothing - long sleeved T shirts, singlets, jumpers, long pants, socks and a jacket occasionally for the rainy days. Let's not forget the clothing we wear at night - pyjamas, nighties. Let's also remember the bedclothes we sleep in - sheets, blankets, doonas, underblankets.
These clothes and bedding have been stored in the cupboard for 4 - 6 months. They get musty. When clothes get musty they can affect out health. People who have a low immune system or allergies or who get asthma must be especially aware. Mustiness can affect our breathing. Just think of lying for eight hours in musty sheets and pillowcases and in musty nightclothes. Make sure to wash all these clothes before wearing them.
Children and Asthma
Autumn time is a time when people, especially children get asthma as the air gets damp, the nights get longer, the heating gets turned on and the winter clothing comes out.
Wash the Bedding Too
I always find it beneficial to use this time to wash the winter sheets and pillowcases before use and to vacuum the mattress and under the bed before putting on the new sheets. This cuts down on the dust that accumulates in the mattress and carpet and makes for a better sleep.
One day I was listening to a radio presenter who said that luxury to her would be fresh sheets on her bed every night. 'Yes,' I thought, 'we always sleep better in fresh sheets.'
By washing the sheets we get rid of some dustmites and dust. We get rid of the residues of our skin and hair. We encapsulate the sunshine and fresh air into the sheets. These deodorize the sheets. All round, a good exercise.
If you have children, make sure that you wash all their clothing and bedding too. This is more important the younger the child is as his immune system, being underdeveloped, is more susceptible to outside influences. If your children get a good night sleep then you get a good night sleep too. The children are happier in the daytime too, and so are you. It is worth doing that extra bit of work to have happier and healthier people in your family.
An infection in the head can be a very nasty business.
Symptoms can include:
This photo illustrates what it is like when you have an infection in one side of your head. The red part is the infected side, the side with the heat.
Symptoms for this type of infection could include:
If symptoms are persistent seek medical attention. If this occurs in a child, definitely seek medical attention.
If symptoms are just starting and you catch it before it gets too bad you could try
Echinacea - a herbal remedy
Olive Leaf Extract
If symptoms persist seek medical attention.
Children are faced with another form of spatial connection in the brain when they start to read and write. It is not uncommon for them to mix 'b' and 'd', 'p' and 'q', 'was' and 'saw'.
At these times children need patience and help from parents and teachers if having difficulty with these concepts. 'S' is another letter often written backwards or confused with 'z' while '2' and '5' are often mixed up.
Difficulty with Spatial Relations
Difficulty with spatial relations can be carried into adult life. I came across a lady many years ago who was always having car accidents because she couldn't work out where she was on the road in relation to other cars. Her children were the same. She came to me for painting lessons. She also had difficulty concentration and understanding instructions. Obviously her brain was not balanced.
Telling the Time
Anyone having difficulty with spatial relations has a part of their brain that is not working quite right. Other areas that these brain problems can show up in is that the person cannot understand the grammar of their language, they just can't understand logic or they find reading an old fashioned clock with the hands just too difficult.
Learning the Basics
In my view, the first three grades of schooling are the most important. It is here that the child gets their basic training on which the rests of their schooling. The education of children has gone backwards since the abolition of specialist teachers for the Infant classes. (Spoken by an specially trained Infant Teacher.)
Reading and writing are two different methods. The act of reading can be very difficult for some children whose brain is not 'wired' quite right. Reading is a perceptual activity. It requires the recognition of words, letters and numbers. It requires that you have the memory of the written symbol somewhere accessible in your brain.
Writing is an intentional activity. It also involves kinesthetic perception which is the ability of the arm, hand and fingers to connect with the pencil and paper and to be able to transfer thoughts from the mind to the paper. These thoughts may be in the form of words or drawings.
These activities are centred in the left side of the brain.
Parts of the Brain affecting Learning
It depends how well these three parts of the brain are working if you have problems or not.
If you have difficulties in any of the following -
Brain Health - Spatial Reasoning
Boosting our Glutathione Levels
Spatial reasoning and Kinesthetic perception are organized in a part of out brain.
We need to be able to 'see' maps in our mind when we drive the car to the supermarket, leave the car in the supermarket yard, when we walk around a shopping centre and to get ourselves to and from work or school.
It is the organization in our brain. So it is very important to have a healthy brain.
Spatial reasoning helps us find lost objects, like the air conditioner remote that I lost down the side of my chair - it was missing for a week right through the time of a heat wave.
If something is not visible, some people have trouble finding it. It is often said in our family that the 'man look' will not find things in the back of the refridgerator or cupboard. Only things at the front can be found. Men often have this difficulty.
So you can see the spatial reasoning is important in our lives.
Kinesthetic perception allows us to know where our body is in relation to the objects around it. We need to be able to coordinate the movements of our arm, hand and fingers to pick up a glass. Kinesthetic perception allows us to hold the glass upright so that the liquid does not pour out of the glass on the way to our mouth.
We also need kinesthetic perception to bring the glass to our mouth and to place it on the table or bench again.
How Spatial Reasoning and Kinesthetic Perception Affects Children
Toddlers learn these kinesthetic movements and spatial relations when they learn to feed themselves and drink out of a cup. They need a sense of spatial relations and kinesthetic perception when trying to dress themselves. They need to know where their body/arm/leg is in relation to their clothes and the surface they are resting on, eg bed or floor.
Young children also have to learn left and right.
Wear clothing from natural fibres where possible
Usually when we think of allergies we think of food allergies but we can also be allergic to the clothing we wear.
When our grandparents and great grandparents were alive and living their lives to the full, just like we are today, all their clothing was made out of natural materials - cotton, wool and linen. Some lucky young ladies had clothing made from silk and poorer people may have had clothes made from hemp or other coarse plant type weaves.
Today when we go into any clothing shop, the majority of clothing is made from synthetics.
What are Synthetic Materials?
Synthetics are fibres made from substances that are not natural. These major synthetics are polyester, nylon, acetate, viscose, acrylic, saran, spandex, orlon and rayon. Most synthetics are made from petrochemicals. What else is made from petrochemicals? Petrol or gasoline for your car. That's right, your clothes are related to the fuel you put in your car.
Synthetic fibres melt and stick to the skin if they burn. They also cause static electricity to build up in the body. This electrical charge can cause irritation of the skin. Synthetic fibres can make you overheat - remember they do not let moisture escape, and they also make you cold when they get wet.
Best Fibres to Use
Natural fibres are the best to use. These include cotton and wool worn by our ancestors. Science today has helped manufacturers refine the ways these fibres and yarns are made and so give us better end products. Other natural fibres to look out for are silk, linen, bamboo, cashmere, alpaca and leather.
