It is well known that more and more Americans are suffering from serious allergies and that the number of allergy sufferers is on the rise. However what many people don’t know is exactly why the number of allergy sufferers is rising or what the cause of this complaint could be.
Theories on the Allergy Epidemic
There are several theories that surround what is often referred to as America’s allergy epidemic. Some researcher have suggested, for example, that there isn’t actually such a huge increase in allergy sufferers, rather that greater allergy awareness has led to more people coming forward with allergy symptoms. However this seems rather unlikely, as whilst it might account for a small increase, it simply wouldn’t account for all of the many new allergy sufferers.
Other theories include what is known as the ‘hygiene hypothesis’. This is a theory that poses that changes to our environment and a wider understanding and avoidance of what is considered to be poor hygiene means that we are now exposed to fewer variety of germs during our early formative years. This means that our immune system doesn’t have to form so robustly, and therefore puts us at greater risk of developing food allergies, dust allergies and other common environmental allergies as well.
Finally, another theory that is getting widespread media coverage suggests that increased allergy numbers are actually the result of infants being weaned too early (before they are 6 months old) and this causing, as a side effect, an increase in food allergies in children. These allergies can often continue through to adulthood.
Getting Help and Further Reading
Whatever the cause, allergies are now a very real problem for more than 50 million people in the United States alone. If you are suffering from allergies then it is important to know that you are not alone and that with a more informed network of medical professionals, help is available to help reduce your symptoms as much as possible.

Adrenal Fatigue and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic Fatigue can be a debilitating illness. There are now 50 million Americans who suffer from some form of allergies, and the number of allergy suffers in the country is continuing to rise year on year. These allergies can develop at any age, and it is possible for adults to develop new allergies, however it is most common for allergies and sensitivities to certain things to develop during childhood.
According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, the environment in which you are situated (whether that be indoor or outdoor) is the most common cause of allergies and affects approximately 40 million Americans.
In layman’s terms this means that conditions such as hay fever, grass, tree or other pollen allergies are the kinds of outdoor allergies that most affect individuals. Indoors, their most common counterparts are allergies to dust mites, pet hair, moulds and other irritants. Removing these irritants from your environment is one of the easiest and most obvious ways to reduce your allergy symptoms, and avoidance of your known allergy triggers is the best way to take care of yourself.
Sadly, there is no known cure for allergies, however antihistamines are available in a wide variety of forms such as tablets, eye drops, nasal sprays and even injections for individuals who find they are unable to remove their irritants or control their symptoms simply by avoiding the product that they are allergic to.
Food Allergies and How to Deal With Them
As well as these common environmental allergies, food allergies are also very common, particularly amongst children, affecting 8% of children in the United States and 2% of adults in the general population.
Food allergies can make simply things like eating out very difficult, as you have to check the ingredients in everything and ensure that cross-contamination is avoided, or that there is no allergen in the wider environment.
However once an allergy is diagnosed it really is a relief, because as soon as you know what you are allergic to you can begin to avoid consumption of that allergen and begin to feel better very quickly.

Each Autumn and Spring I go looking for stored clothes with a musty odour. Some may have been sitting in the back of the cupboard waiting for their next wear. As the seasons change, our clothes change. It is the middle of Autumn here in Australia at the moment. The days are getting shorter and colder. We start to think of an extra layer of clothing to keep our body warm.
So, at this time of the year, I always go through my cupboard. First I look for any clothes that smell musty. These are put out for a wash instantly. I find that I cannot breathe properly if I put on a nightie that is slightly musty. I have to lie in it all night with it touching my skin and imparting its mustiness to the sheets and pillowcases. I don't want that. My winter singlets and nightwear get a wash. I don't want any old allergies or asthma to resurface.
Bedclothes get Musty too
Remember the sheets and pillowslips that you will sleep in. These, too, can take on a strong odour if unused for a few months. So out they go for a wash too. If the sheets are getting a wash, well the blankets must need a spruce up too. We use cotton blankets, so each of these is treated to water and sunshine.
In the 'olden days', the times of our grandmothers and great grandmothers, it was much more difficult to do the washing. It was all done by hand and hung on long lines in the open air. Sometimes special underclothes were spread across a convenient lavender bush to make it smell pretty.
Static Electricity and Synthetic clothing
Today, with the advent of the automatic washing machine, it is so easy to do a load of washing. However, spare a thought for all those people living in highrise apartments whose clothes never get to absorb the sunshine. They spread their clothing on clothes horses inside where the moisture slowly evaporates from them or throw them into a clothes dryer where they spin round and round for an hour or so, gathering static electricity.
Synthetic clothes are the worst for this. Synthetic clothing is made of acrylic, nylon, polyester, viscose and a few more varieties made from the oil and plastics industry. The best things to have your clothes made out of are cotton, wool, linen or bamboo. These do not attract static electricity and they are renewable.
We are so lucky here in Australia that so many of us have a clothesline in the backyard to dry the clothes. Make use of it and have fresh smelling clothing for winter.

This put the onus back on the patient to find some relief for themselves. They turned to the Alternative health professionals who would at least listen to them.
Over the last thirty or forty years as more and more people present with similar symptoms, testing has improved. Some professionals have taken an interest in the health of these sensitive people. Bless them.
There is now a growing body of knowledge about these mysterious illnesses - Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) sometimes called CFIDS or ME in other countries. Adrenal Fatigue is term given to some sections of these illnesses also.
During my research and after reading a book by Dr Wilson about Adrenal Fatigue (the same symptoms as I had) I came across a Facebook (FB) group in the US with thousands of people suffering from this illness. They prefer to heal their body with natural remedies instead of putting yet more chemicals into their system.
As there were a lot of people there from Australia, I started a FB group for Australians to help each other. I have just been amazed at the response and the growing number of people who are asking to join. Everyday more people are asking to join. Now we have people from around the world searching for information here too.
So, if you are looking for a supportive environment to learn about the symptoms of your illness like debilitating exhaustion, brain fog or allergies you just might find some answers in Adrenal Fatigue Recovery, Australia.
Recovering from Major Illness
Natural supplements are a great way to improve our health especially if we are or have been very unwell. The medical profession have difficulty in diagnosing some illnesses. Just because doctors can't find what is wrong with you or put a name to it does not mean that you are not ill. There are many other health professionals who have expertise in other health modalities.
This why my favourite modality is Homeopathy. I call this the 'Designer Medicine'. The remedies are prescribed for you according to your symptoms, not the generalized symptoms of an illness. You may have more than one illness. There are over two thousand remedies.
My favourite supplement is N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC). This supplies the ingredients for our body to make glutathione, the major antioxidant in our body. Glutathione cannot be absorbed in our body if taken as a supplement therefore we need to give our body the basic ingredients to make it. NAC is very good for Depression or Bi Polar. Research studies have been done on this in Australia with positive results. Glutathione is found especially in the heart and the brain as well as all over the body.
Vitamin C is another important antioxidant. We have all heard of the importance of this for many years. We cannot make this vital vitamin in our body so must absorb it in our food or as a supplement. Most people will not get enough of this in their diet so supplementation in important. Vitamin C is found in the fluid in our eyes so to protect these important organs take some Vitamin C every day.
Minerals are the backbone of our body. We all know about Calcium and we know the names of many other minerals we need to keep us healthy. There is chloride, phosphorus, potassium and sodium. We also need iron and many trace elements. Trace elements are needed in very tiny quantities in our body, but we still need them.
What is the best way to get our minerals? By eating vegetables. The minerals have been absorbed by the roots of the vegetables and these are easily absorbed by our body.
Magnesium is my favourite mineral. It is wonderful to ease spasms. Spasms can manifest as cramps in the legs, period cramps, cramps in the gut in Irritable Bowel Syndrome or other bowel illnesses where the bowel goes into spasms. Magnesium also eases sneezing - a spasm, and coughing and asthma. It can help ease a migraine too. It also helps build our bones.
There are different ways to take magnesium.
Next time I will talk about other supplements that may help with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. ME, CFIDS, Fibromyalgia, Adrenal Fatigue the Immune system and Thyroid problems.

This eBook takes a natural approach to improving your health, especially if you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). CFS is also referred to by different names around the world. It is called ME and Fibromyalgia and CFIDS.
Jacob Teitelbaum MD, a well known world expert on CFS, thinks that there may be many causes of CFS/Fibromyalgia. However the most important thing is for people to start to sleep well, control their pain, to start feeling healthy and be part of a community. Dr Teitlebaum had CFS himself as a young man and has specialised in treatment of the illness using a natural approach.
In my ebook I also use a natural approach to improving health. Medical men seemed to have no answers and I was left to myself to find simple, natural things that worked for me. I share this information in my ebook. I tell the story of my experience with CFS/Fibromyalgia. For a long time it seemed that I would not get better but gradually my health improved.
There are different levels of CFS. Some people feel tired for a few months, some are racked with pain in every nook and cranny, joint and muscle of their body and others suffer from prolonged sore throat, sinusitis and chest infections for months or years on end.
Here are some suggestions of different modalities you can try from crystal healing to flower essences to homeopathy to herbs.
You choose. It's your body, your life.
For the past 30 years or so we have been told to cut down on fats in our diet. We were told they were making us unhealthy, overweight and giving us heart disease.
Manufacturers got onto the bandwagon. They have taken the natural fats out of cheese to give us low fat cheese. Cheese is all about fat. Cheese is made from milk and cream of animals. They overwhelming consumption of our cheese is from cows.
For years my husband has been heard complaining that the plastic wrap of the low fat cheese slices tasted better than the 'cheese?' it was wrapped around.
We Need Fat in Our Diet
Fat makes food taste good. Fat makes us feel full.
Some vitamins are only soluble in fat, that is, they only mix with fat. They cannot mix with water or any watery fluid in our body. These vitamins are A,D,E and K. Therefore we need fat in our diet to be able to absorb these. Because these vitamins do not wash out of our body we should not take too much of them. However we probably do not get enough of them in our modern diet.
When we eat fat it increases the rate at which our body burns fat. So the odd thing is, if we eat more fat, we will use more of our body fat.
Good Fat Versus Bad Fat
There are different types of fat.
Saturated fats include meat, cream, cheese, butter and coconut oil.
Monounsaturated fats are found in avocados, nuts and olives.
Polyunsaturated fats are found in fatty fish like mackerel and herring.
Bad fats are transfats and hydrogenated fats. Margarine is made from seed oils that have been modified and made solid. Oils are not normally solid except for coconut oil. Coconut oil is good for us.
Products with Fat
Today it is hard to find full fat yoghurt in the supermarket. Now the majority of yoghurt has most of the fat taken out of it and replaced with sugar and fruit (there is lots of sugar in fruit) to make it taste better. Look for Greek yoghurt. This is full fat.
Fat and Blood Sugar Levels
Fat does not impact on blood sugar levels. Sugar and carbohydrates do impact on blood sugar levels. So by increasing your fat intake you will not be as hungry, therefore will not need/crave as much sugar or as many carbohydrates to keep you going.
People with dairy sensitivity should not take any dairy products. These people can get their fat from coconut oil, avocados, olives, nuts, mackerel and salmon.

There has been a great worldwide summit on Thyroid health this week. Over 30 hours of broadcasts. The information is so very important because so many of us have a low thyroid condition causing much of our ill health. Even people who seem healthy may still have a low thyroid problem.
A low thyroid may be the cause of many heart problems. It is tied in with our sex drive and our adrenal system, that part of us that gives the extra oomf when there is a major crisis in our lives.
This summit has been given mostly by doctors who have treated thousands and thousands of over 30 to 40 years. The information is not about some new found pharmaceutical but is tried and tested natural methods of good, honest, practical help.
If you have missed out on being part of the summit and would still like to get access to this important information, click on this link https://nq177.infusionsoft.com/go/thyroidorder/TOSSY/
as it is available to purchase after the summit. This way you will be able to take your time to digest all this wonderful information that could change your life.
There is most important information here also that can help many sufferers of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), CFIFS, ME and Fibromyalgia (FMS) and allergies.
Spring and Autumn are the two 'change of season' times of the year. These are preparatory seasons, seasons where we get ready for the hottest or coldest season of the year.
Springtime has traditionally been a time of the year when housewives took to cleaning. They cleaned out the dirt and the damp of winter, the spiders and cobwebs, they washed the smoke from the wood fires and the dust from the curtains and the walls and scrubbed the front doorstep.
These days houses are not locked up as much throughout the winter. We are lucky to have the cracks in our walls plastered and heating turned on. Not so many of us have wood fires for heat these days.
Change of Season
However at the change of season, whether it is the Autumn season or Spring season, we are changing our clothes and our bedding. Because I live in the southern hemisphere and it's Autumn time here, I'll talk about that.
Washing Stored Clothes
As the days get cooler we start to get out our lighter winter clothing - long sleeved T shirts, singlets, jumpers, long pants, socks and a jacket occasionally for the rainy days. Let's not forget the clothing we wear at night - pyjamas, nighties. Let's also remember the bedclothes we sleep in - sheets, blankets, doonas, underblankets.
These clothes and bedding have been stored in the cupboard for 4 - 6 months. They get musty. When clothes get musty they can affect out health. People who have a low immune system or allergies or who get asthma must be especially aware. Mustiness can affect our breathing. Just think of lying for eight hours in musty sheets and pillowcases and in musty nightclothes. Make sure to wash all these clothes before wearing them.
Children and Asthma
Autumn time is a time when people, especially children get asthma as the air gets damp, the nights get longer, the heating gets turned on and the winter clothing comes out.
Wash the Bedding Too
I always find it beneficial to use this time to wash the winter sheets and pillowcases before use and to vacuum the mattress and under the bed before putting on the new sheets. This cuts down on the dust that accumulates in the mattress and carpet and makes for a better sleep.
One day I was listening to a radio presenter who said that luxury to her would be fresh sheets on her bed every night. 'Yes,' I thought, 'we always sleep better in fresh sheets.'
By washing the sheets we get rid of some dustmites and dust. We get rid of the residues of our skin and hair. We encapsulate the sunshine and fresh air into the sheets. These deodorize the sheets. All round, a good exercise.
If you have children, make sure that you wash all their clothing and bedding too. This is more important the younger the child is as his immune system, being underdeveloped, is more susceptible to outside influences. If your children get a good night sleep then you get a good night sleep too. The children are happier in the daytime too, and so are you. It is worth doing that extra bit of work to have happier and healthier people in your family.
The most popular natural toothpastes I sell in my online stores are Propolis, Vicco Olive Leaf toothpastes.
Today people are becoming increasingly aware of food they eat and the cleaning products they use on their body.
With chemicals in the environment abounding since the 1950s, we are constantly surrounded by them.
Today, more than ever before, cancer takes its toll on the community. It was a rarity in the 1930s to 1950s.
Commercial toothpaste is a product that has also been invaded by chemicals. It must make your teeth look whiter, It must kill the bacteria in your mouth and it must have plenty of froth and bubble. Then, of course it must come in attractive containers and sometimes the paste itself is even coloured, and be peppermint flavoured.
Well, I for one am prepared to go without most of this. I definitely don't want the chemicals, especially the dangerous ones. I don't need the froth and bubble. When was the last time that the air in a bubble of froth cleaned anything?

I sell a variety of things on Ebay. I started out selling plants, cutting and seeds from my garden. I have been into Natural Health products all my life and make my own Flower Essences, Creams, Herbal Tinctures and Homeopathic remedies.
After a few years with severe allergies and chemical sensitivities, I was buying Natural toothpaste from my supplier. I put some on my Ebay site along with my bottles and vials and suddenly the toothpaste became popular. As I say, I didn't set out to supply toothpaste. However if people need it I am happy to supply it.
