We all know that it is not a good idea for children to sit in front of the television for hours. These days there are lots of electronic gadgets that can keep children amused but is it good for them?
Oxygen for our Brain
Scientists and doctors tell us that the more we sit, the more unhealthy we are. When we sit our heart, blood flow and breathing are not stimulated. If we go for an walk the blood is pumping through our veins at a faster rate. This gets our metabolism going. t makes us breathe faster. When we breathe we get more oxygen into our body. We need oxygen for our brain to work properly.
The best thing for children to do is take off their shoes and socks and run barefoot on the grass, at the beach or even play around on the concrete. The important thing here is that they do this barefoot. When our feet touch the ground we are earthing ourselves.
Electrons travel through the soles of our feet into our body getting rid of those free radicals that everyone is telling us are causing illness, inflammation and ageing. We want to keep our children healthy, so get them running barefoot on the ground.
Children need to move. They need to be active. Give them little projects. We all feel more useful when we have something to do.
Things Children Can Do
Give them a plastic bottle of water to make patterns on the concrete. Let them run through the water on the concrete in their bare feet.
Our feet are a very important part of our anatomy. They help us to move around. They were so important to our ancestors that a unit of measurement was centred around the foot.
For thousands of years our ancestors walked barefoot. What, you say? I don’t have any ancestors who walked around barefoot. Well, in that case, you just haven’t traced your ancestors back far enough. It is a fact that every one of us had many ancestors who walked around in bare feet.
Their first shoes were made from leather and during the last fifty years, the soles of shoes have moved away from natural products to synthetic products. Instead of walking in leather shoes as our parents or grandparents used to, we now wear some form of plastic soled shoes.
Our feet are the most sensitive part in our body. There are about 1300 nerve endings per square inch (2.5 square centimetres) of skin on the soles of our feet. All those nerves come from different parts of our body. This is why Reflexology works so well.
Reflexology was formed on the premise that every part of the foot affects some part of the body. So now you can see why. If there are 1300 nerve endings per square inch (2.5 square centimetres) of our foot, there are enough nerves there to reach all of our body. In Reflexology, every part of our foot is stimulated with massage to benefit our whole system.
Looking after our feet is very important otherwise many things can go wrong with them and this makes it difficult for us to walk.
The state of our feet can also tell us the state our body is in. If we have any of the following we know we have to do something about them - corns, warts, blisters, cracked heels, ingrown toenails, hammer toes, psoriasis, tinea, sweaty feet, hot feet, cold feet, pain, calluses.
Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease
Walking barefoot is good for our feet as it helps to sensitize all those nerve endings. Because we encase our feet in solid shoes, we lose the sensitivity in them. By walking barefoot it increases their sensitivity. This has been found to be of benefit to people with Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
As these diseases progress, balance is lost and people can tend to walk in a shuffling movement and with feet wider apart to get their balance. Stimulating their feet by walking barefoot and by using Reflexology may help to bring them into balance.
It is also very important to walk barefoot on the Earth, that is, on the garden grass, in a park or at the beach on the sand. Walking barefoot brings our body into balance with the earth. Science has now been able to prove that the electrical energies of the earth are of great benefit to us. To maintain you health or to improve it, walk in bare feet for 30 minutes daily in contact with the earth.
It has been shown that walking barefoot on the earth each day can ease the inflammation in our body. It is now recognised that inflammation causes many major diseases like diabetes and heart problems.

Dairy free and Gluten free Brownies
These gluten free brownies are just chock full of good things for you - almond meal, quinoa, coconut flour and coconut oil, cocoa and chia. They are full of antioxidants and good fat.
Even the sweetener is mostly fructose free. I have made these biscuits with glucose powder, also called dextrose which has no fructose in it. The fructose is the bad bit of the sugar. It is the really sweet part. Fructose is bad for people with diabetes and for many people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I used just 30gr of sugar but it is the low GI sugar, also better to help keep your blood sugar more stable. If you wanted to, you could exchange this for more glucose powder. Low GI means that this food breaks down more slowly into your blood stream so it does not give the glucose rush that a high GI food gives you.
Gluten Free & nearly Fructose Free Brownies
In another bowl mix the dry ingredients
Mix the dry ingredients then all them to the oil and egg mix. Stir and add the water a bit at a time.
Spread baking paper on the oven tray.
Pop the tray into the heated oven at 160degrees C for 20 minutes.
Makes 14 brownies.
Cool before eating - if you can wait.
Because these brownies are full of the best, most nutritious flours, nuts, seeds and oils you will find that you don't need to eat as many of them as you would biscuits made out of starchy flours.
This eBook takes a natural approach to improving your health, especially if you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). CFS is also referred to by different names around the world. It is called ME and Fibromyalgia and CFIDS.
Jacob Teitelbaum MD, a well known world expert on CFS, thinks that there may be many causes of CFS/Fibromyalgia. However the most important thing is for people to start to sleep well, control their pain, to start feeling healthy and be part of a community. Dr Teitlebaum had CFS himself as a young man and has specialised in treatment of the illness using a natural approach.
In my ebook I also use a natural approach to improving health. Medical men seemed to have no answers and I was left to myself to find simple, natural things that worked for me. I share this information in my ebook. I tell the story of my experience with CFS/Fibromyalgia. For a long time it seemed that I would not get better but gradually my health improved.
There are different levels of CFS. Some people feel tired for a few months, some are racked with pain in every nook and cranny, joint and muscle of their body and others suffer from prolonged sore throat, sinusitis and chest infections for months or years on end.
Here are some suggestions of different modalities you can try from crystal healing to flower essences to homeopathy to herbs.
You choose. It's your body, your life.
Pain relief, many names, one product:
All these names are talking about the same drug for pain relief.
'What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;'
Spoken by Juliet
from Romeo and Juliet
by William Wordsworth
Because this drug, which is used for pain relief around the world, is used so frequently. people become blase about it. It was the same with aspirin until it was realized that it can cause bleeding of ulcers and toxicity to kidneys and liver.
Each tablet contains 500mg paracetamol (acetaminophen, Tylenol)
Dosage should not exceed 4000mg daily, that's 8 tablets a day.
For chronic use, take no more than 2000 to 3000mg daily. That is 4-6 tablets a day.
Chronic use at a high level can cause liver or kidney problems.
Doses of 1000mg daily of paracetamol (acetaminophen, Tylenol), that's only 2 tablets, depletes a major antioxidant called glutathione. We desperately need glutathione in our body. It is a master antioxidant and detoxifier. It strengthens the immune system and fights inflammation.
Taking glutathione does not help but we can take N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC). Our body uses NAC to make glutathione. So when taking more than a couple of tablets of paracetamol (acetaminophen, Tylenol) in a day, it is also a good idea to take a capsule of NAC. These usually come in 500mg -650mg capsules.
If you can have dairy products, high quality whey protein has also been shown to raise glutathione levels.
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) US, 56,000 people presented to hospital emergency rooms with serious side effects from accidental overdosing of paracetamol (acetaminophen, Tylenol). There are also 100, yes, 100 deaths a year from this drug that is sold in supermarkets and touted as being everybody's friend.
