Long spears of Buddleia
Flower Essences can help ease our Emotions
As discussed in my last two post about Flower Essences, the gentle energy of flowers can help our emotions.
When talking to devoted gardeners, over and over again they will tell you that they feel so much better when working in the garden.
Do you know people that love the bush and just love to go bushwalking regularly? An entire part of the tourism industry has developed just to get these people into pristine bushlands and forests.
We cannot always get into our garden or go visit a park or have a walk in the bush when we are distressed. The next best thing is to be able to bottle this energy. Yes, it can still help us. Nature is wonderful.
Flowers and their energy
Grief is an emotion that many of us carry, hidden within ourselves as we go about our normal daily life. To relieve this burden Nature has given us some plants to help us. Let's look at some of them.
Buddleia is a small tree of about three metres high. It has elegant an arrowhead bunch of small flowerets that hold the energy to ease depression. Depression is a form of grief. It helps people who wish to be on their own and withdraw from society.
Echium, a brilliant blue flower helps to ease a feeling of hopelessness and despair.
Bleeding Heart helps to strengthen the heart especially in times of brokenheartedness.
Borage relieves the weight of deep grief in the heart.
Gorse helps repair a deep form of depression.
Sweet chestnut eases a deep depression where the person thinks there is no way out.
Mustard is for the person with unhappiness and depression for no reason.

Lemons have a rich yellow colour
Lemon Juice Cleanse
Drinking lemon juice is a wonderful cleanser and strengthener for our body. It is good to have at the start of the day to help cleanse our body and stimulate the stomach acids ready to break our fast.
Lemon juice is antibacterial, antiviral. It has an alkaline effect on our body. Generally our bodies are too acidic and we need to eat and drink more alkalizing foods so lemons are a good source of this. Because of lemon's antibacterial and antiviral effects it is good to drink it when we feel a cold or sore throat coming on.
How to make Lemon tea
Cut a lemon in half. Put it in a bowl and in the microwave for 22 seconds. When the lemon is warm it is easier to get the juice out. If you have a lemon sqeezer this is great to grind the lemon on to release most of the juice. Otherwise just squeeze it with your hand. Use the juice of half a lemon in a mug, pour in hot water and add a teaspoon of honey. If you can get Manuka Honey this is all the better to use as it has higher healing properties.
Sip and enjoy.
A Secret - Don't Tell
Here's a little secret but don't tell my husband I told you. The dear soul has problems with things blowing up in the microwave eg poached eggs because he sometimes (all the time) forgets to prick the yolk. Well, one day he thought he would make me some lemon tea. He put the WHOLE lemon in the microwave (didn't even stab the skin) and watched aghast as, when it warmed, it took off flying in the air, round and round inside the microwave! Remember to cut the lemon before heating it this way. I can just see you all trying it out now!
Sore Throat Remedy
When we feel the first touches of a sore throat looming make a gargle of
lemon juice - 1-2 teaspoons
salt - 1/4 teaspoon
warm water - half a glass
How to Gargle
Take a small mouthful of this liquid, tip your head back, close of the back of your throat with the back of your tongue and blow air from your throat into your mouth. This stops the liquid from going down and has the effect of making bubbles of the liquid swirl around your mouth. Swirl the liquid around your mouth. Spit the first lot out as this will have the highest number af bacteria in it. It is safe to swallow the rest of the mixture.
The depth of a flower
'Flower essences provide support in maintaining or regaining physical health.' They also enhance awareness, support and assist personal growth and facilitate spiritual development.
They are completely different to aromatherapy, having no smell. They work on energy alone, however they are still from flowers as are aromatic or aromatherapy oils.
The Subtlety of Flower Essences
Flower essences work on a more subtle level than the aromatic oils and are more similar to homeopathy.
Flower essences do not block feelings but work to align us with our higher self so that we may respond increasingly in the way that is best for us under the circumstances.
Flower essences harmonise imbalances in the body - mind connection to mobilise our body’s own health-creating forces.
Flower Essences Help Healing
The mind, through the nervous system, is able to make physiological changes in the body’s immune system. Flower essences facilitate healing on a physical level by addressing the mental, emotional and spiritual imbalances that leave us vulnerable to accident and illness.
They do not act directly on the body’s biochemistry though some imbalances bear a more direct relationship to physical conditions and so some essences impact more on a cellular level.
Others operate more on the level of the chakras – energy centres in the body, - meridians – the energy channels upon which the ancient practice of acupuncture is based, - and in the aura, our etheric energy field.
'It is by balancing and harmonising the vibrations of the body’s energy systems that the well established disciplines of acupuncture and homeopathy operate.'
Flower essences also work in this vibrational medicine working in the energy field where they operate.
The following links go to earlier posts about Flower Essences:
Flower Essences come in dropper bottles.
Essences are just vibrations of the flower captured in the water and preserved with alcohol. We vibrate constantly.
Everything vibrates. This is a rule of Physics. When you find the essence that resonates (vibrates on your level) with you, healing takes place. We resonate with friends and are aggravated by some people as though we were rubbed with sand paper. It is the same with flower essences.
The essences are safe to use because there is nothing of the flower in the water. The flowers sit in the water for 3-4 hours then they are taken out. Nothing physical is left behind. Plants used are non-poisonous. Some plants have very strong healing properties eg foxglove, and must be used in the most minute quantities. As an essence their healing power can be used and not the plant so that the essences are safe.
Rescue Remedy is the name on most people’s lips if you mention flower essences. This remedy works so well in relieving people of everyday fright, exhaustion, sleeplessness and distress. Dr Edward Bach combined certain essences to help people overcome distress. It also helps turn people’s attitude in the case of severe distress as in the case of despair.
Survival remedy is made by My Heartsong Essences. It is made of flowers, tinctures and crystals. It is a very powerful remedy. The flowers used are orange and blue giving a beautiful balance connecting the throat chakra with the sacral chakra the centres for expression and emotions.
Survival Remedy helps ease emotions, bringing calm when the mind is in turmoil. In this way it can help ease one into sleep, calm the emotions. It is a great help when one is experiencing a bout of sneezing or coughing and helps ease headaches.
This essence is made of the Australian Bush flowers. It works similarly to the Rescue Remedy.
Roses are very powerful healers
What are Flower Essences?
Flower Essences are a a gentle form of healing that ease our emotions and give us emotional strength.
Are Flower Essences the same as Essential Oils?
Flower Essences are not the same as Essentials oils. Essential Oils is another name for Aromatherapy oils. Aromatherapy oils or Essential oils are made from the inner liquid or oils of the plant.
How are Flower Essences made?
Flower essences are made by transferring the energy of the flower into pure water.
Fact - Every thing on this earth, including our bodies, vibrates at different rates - Physics.
Fact - Each type of flower vibrates at its own rate.
Fact - people with similar emotions tend to be drawn to each other.
Fact - water holds energy.
In making Flower essences we make use of water to hold energy. We can then transfer it to ourselves in our time of necessity.
How do Flower essences help us?
Flower essences can help us ease our emotions and strengthen us in our times of trouble.
How do we know which Flower Essence to take?
There are many different ways that we can know instinctively which flower essence to take.
Are you attracted to the name of the essence?
Do you like the colour of the flower that the essence is made from.
Do you like the shape of the flower of the essence?
If the flower has a perfume, do you like the perfume of the flower?
Do you only take an Essence you are attracted to?
Sometimes we really dislike a flower or bush while someone else will like it.
Sometimes it is beneficial to take the essence of a flower we do not like. It might be addressing a deep fear or emotion. These emotions run very deep and will take more time to ease.
How do I take Flower Essences?
Flower Essences are easy to take. As you know they come in water in a bottle. This bottle is a dropper bottle. There is usually some form of alcohol in the bottle as a preservative. Take 2 to 7 drops as directed on the bottle. This liquid is placed under the tongue in a clean mouth. This means that you have not had any food or coffee/strong flavour drink for about twenty minutes before or after the drops for optimal absorption.
Flower essences are sometimes taken 3 or four times a day, depending on need.
Alternatively, the drops can be placed in water and sipped as needed.

Gluten Free Tuna Curry Pasta Bake
Easy Gluten Free Recipe
Here's a good Gluten Free recipe that is very easy to make. I had it for lunch today and there's some left over for tomorrow too!
Gluten free pasta 3 x 250 cups (dry)- use your favourite. I always like the curly one. It doesn't hod any water in it like the penne and it doesn't stick together like the fetuccini.
Cook the pasta in 1 1/2 litres boiling water.
Add to the cooking pasta
1 carrot and 1 bunch of curly kale or other favourite green leafy vegetables. Chop these in a food processor so they are nice and fine.
Cook the pasta and veg for about 10 mins. Don't overcook it because it is going to cook further in the oven.
When cooked, drain and set aside.
1 tin light evaporated milk
1 450gr tuna
2 tspn curry powder
1tspn tumeric powder - this is very good for you
1/2 tspn Vegeta vegetable salt
Light cheese, grated, 1 handful
Warm the sauce, place the pasta and carrots and kale in a cooking dish. An 8 inch (20cm) cake tine is OK if you don't have a casserole dish.
Pour tuna sauce over the pasta and stir with a fork. Sprinkle with another handful of cheese.
Cook at 180 degrees C /350 degrees F for 30 minutes
The pasta absorbs the milk in the sauce so it is not runny when baked.

Do you have a Sweet Tooth?
Are you looking for safe sugar alternatives that are chemical free. Well, I can recommend two.
Xylitol is a sugar alcohol that occurs naturally in certain plants. It was first produced in the 1800s, used more prolifically during World War ll and has been used since in Europe and Japan. It can be extracted from corn or the birch tree. Xylitol is a natural substance found in fibrous vegetables and fruit, as well as in corn cobs and various hardwood trees, like birch. Relatively high quantities of xylitol are found in plums, raspberries and cauliflower. Xylitol is a five-carbon sugar, which means that it is anti-microbial, it prevents
the growth of bacteria. All other forms of sugar are six-carbon sugars, which cause bacterial and fungi overgrowth.
The benefits of Xylitol
Xylitol has 40% less calories/Kj than sugar
It has fine crystals just like caster sugar
It has a similar sweetness to sugar
It is antibacterial meaning it prevents bacteria growing in the mouth
It enhances alkaline levels in your body (good) - sugar enhances the acid levels (bad)
It is absorbed slowly into our body and so gives very little change to blood sugar levels
It has a low GI of 7 (great) - sucrose (sugar) is a high 60
It is suitable for diabetics
It is suitable for cooking
Natvia is 100% natural. It includes Erythritol which is a naturally occuring nectar found in fruit. It also includes Stevia which is a plant.

Do you suffer from Anxiety?
‘Researchers are learning that anxiety disorders run in
families, and that they have a biological basis, much like allergies or diabetes and other disorders. Anxiety disorders may develop from a complex set of risk factors, including genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and life events.’ from the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
Yes, it is understandable that anxiety should run in families. We only have to look around us at the people we know to realise that many things run in
families. We learn to be who we are by the influence of our family. We eat the same food as the people in our family. We have the same genes as the people in our family.
All these things can and do affect us. We learn to cope in the same way
as the people in our family. When we become adults we change who we mix with, have our own friends and are influenced by the people we mix with at work. We can even change our diet. Even if we are no longer mixing directly with our family we carry them with us for the rest of our life in the genes in our body.
We can influence how we feel by the way we think, the food we eat and the
company we keep.
Natural ways to ease Anxiety
The gentle energy of Flower Essences can also help us with the way we feel. They affect our aura, our energy system.
Dr Edward Bach was a medical doctor and specialist in London in the 1930s. He discovered the benefits of the energy of plants and how they can also affect the way we think and feel.
Coming with a long history, herbs can also influence the
way we think and feel. Sometimes we need a little help to cope with the events in our life. Herbs are a gentle, safe, tried and true way we can turn for our health.
Tell us some natural remedies you have used for anxiety. This way we can
help each other.
